Fujifilm | Photo Kiosk & Omnichannel Experience Design

Fujifilm’s Photo Finishing Kiosk division—based in Rochester, NY—is one of the company’s most profitable business units, delivering customized photo kiosk solutions to major retailers including Walmart, CVS, Verizon, Michaels, and Sam’s Club. As UX Manager and Art Director, I led a multidisciplinary team of UX professionals with varying skill sets across interaction design, visual design, and usability engineering to deliver cohesive, brand-aligned experiences across public kiosks, web commerce, mobile devices, and in-store workflows.

My role required balancing hands-on design execution with leadership and strategy—cycling daily between UX management, art direction, and usability engineering. I guided the creation of scalable style guides to ensure consistency across assets, layouts, and interaction patterns while supporting retailer-specific branding requirements. I also planned and executed usability testing, synthesized findings into actionable recommendations, and produced highlight reels that clearly communicated critical usability issues—such as audio feedback miscommunication and touch accuracy challenges—to stakeholders and development teams.

Across multiple initiatives, I helped define and document core interaction frameworks including “Tap to Start” entry panels, expanded hit-zone standards for public kiosks, mobile-to-kiosk connection workflows, and step-by-step credit card processing flows. Additional efforts included heuristic evaluations and redesign proposals for products such as Quawalla, HomeDecor, Snap2Frame, and Wonder Photo Shop, as well as mobile experiences like the GetPix app. These projects focused on improving learnability, reducing friction in complex creation and upload workflows, and ensuring seamless transitions between mobile, kiosk, and in-store experiences—at scale, in real-world retail environments.
